Gene Goodwin

Owner and InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector®

When not inspecting properties around Houston, Gene enjoys staying in shape and competing in soccer, baseball, tennis, and basketball. He also loves spending quality time with his family, including two dogs and two cats, and taking trips to nearby Kemah and Galveston.

Before becoming a home inspector, Gene served in the Navy as an electrical/mechanical technician and then spent the next 10+ years working in residential construction.  He’s experienced in new construction and remodels, and worked as a framing subcontractor specializing in rough and finish framing.  Over the years, Gene has participated in all facets of structural development including demolition, foundation excavation and formwork, and the installation of floors, drywall, doors/windows, cabinets, bathrooms, decks, exterior siding, and gutter and drainage systems.

With his passion for structures and knowledge of their systems, Gene decided to complete training and earn his home inspector’s license. He opened Gene Inspections so he could use his skills while helping people assess the condition of their homes. Hire us for your next home inspection and we’ll give you an honest, comprehensive report, and make sure you know everything about your property!
